SnapStrat hires former Talend Exec as CTO
Oakland, April 30, 2018 — SnapStrat, an innovator in data science enabled solutions for strategic decisions, today announced that Francis Upton IV has been named Chief Technical Officer. Upton was previously VP, Architecture and Governance at Talend (Nasdaq:TLND), a leading supplier of enterprise data-related technologies. Upton is being brought on to architect and build SnapStrat’s platform for strategic allocation decisions.
Upton brings over 30 years of technology expertise to SnapStrat with a broad range of experience including software development, architecture, and engineering management. During his 5 year stint at Talend he lead development efforts on the Talend Data Mapper and then created and lead Talend’s first cross-product architecture group. Upton joined Talend when they acquired the advanced data transformation technology from Oakland Software where he was CTO and President. Upton had founded Oakland Software in 2002. Previously Upton served in a variety of roles in several organizations including HP, Digital Equipment, and Forte Software.
At SnapStrat, Upton will head both technology strategy and execution. Upton will utilize his deep experience in building user-configurable data platforms which will allow for rapid implementation of SnapStrat decisioning solutions across different customers and different decisions. Upton will also be responsible for integrating industry-leading advanced analytic and machine learning algorithms into the platform.
